Meet the 2017 Belgian Pavilion.

After much delay (gotta love when life gets back to “normal” with this thing called work), here is the first of the last few pavilions from my Folklorama adventures!

Cultural DisplayMeet the 2017 Belgian Pavilion.

Head to the 2nd floor to see the a wall display of each unique Belgian beer – each with its own distinct glass. You’ll also see a live demonstration of lace making.  Here, you can also purchase that world famous Belgian chocolate.  From their display boards and booths, I also learned about cyclocross which is a from of bike racing that is popular in this region.

Food

DESSERT.  There are a lot of options at this pavilion – and a popular side dish was the french fries with mayo.  But seriously, don’t come to here if you didn’t leave room for dessert, or you’re seriously missing out!

Entertainment

Part of the band at this pavilion included youth dancers who are clearly multitalented.  We got to hear from some unique instruments such as the saxophone.  They provided live entertainment for the singers and dancers.  Behind the dancers, on several screens runs a slideshow describing Belgian facts, traditions and the numbers being performed

Above and Beyond

The volunteers at this pavilion were so lovely and patient.  They had a full house and these volunteers were able to get everyone in, seated, and served!

Thank you again to the Belgian Pavilion for having us!
