Casino and Restaurants

Meet Solaire Resort & Casino.Arguably the biggest draw to this resort is its casino.  Unfortunately, this draw also comes with its biggest drawback – smokers everywhere!   There is no smoking ban in Manila and therefore casinos and other areas will most likely have smokers at their slots and tables.  This is, in fact, one of the main complaints about the hotel on TripAdvisor.  For those who don’t mind the smoke, however, this is a large casino with a lot of options.  You can’t build yourself to be Asia’s Vegas without exceptional casinos!

Other than the casino, the restaurants are a great place to meet and catch up with friends.  Catering to a highly international clientele, the resort offers international cuisines at its 4 fine dining options and 6 casual dining restaurants.   With a range from a food court to a sit-down gourmet meals, foodies will certainly find something that pleases their palettes.

While meeting with Rex & Meg Castaneda (more about them later), we opted to have dinner at Oasis Garden Cafe.  At this time, we had been in Manila for a day and a half.  I was definitely in Western food withdrawal. I’m not talking about the Asian version of Western food, I’m talking authentic Western cuisine.  I was pleased that the vegetarian sandwich at Oasis met those standards!

Arts, Wellness and Entertainment

Meet Solaire Resort & Casino. There was an art gallery of local artists set up during our visit.  This was a thoughtful way to line the walls as they continue renovations of their Shoppes.  The Shoppes area had high-quality shopping just an arms reach from the casino area on the main floor.  Entertainment lounges and theatres also make way for world-class entertainment  The resort also comes equipped with a fitness centre and a spa for guests’ health and wellness options.

Had a stressful day of meetings or needing to blow off a little steam?  Also in the building…a shooting range!

Temporary Home Worthy?

Meet Solaire Resort & Casino.I would like to disclose that we did not spend the night at Solaire, so I cannot speak to their accommodations.  I can, however, recommend this hotel to couples traveling without children.  The smoke, casino, and bars definitely gear this hotel to adults (although the rest of the resort is certainly open to children).  Both gamblers and non-gamblers alike can enjoy the many facilities and options that Solaire has to offer.  The challenge with Entertainment City is its distance from a lot of other districts in the city.  Those wanting history, sight-seeing, and exploring new districts will need to rent out a van, taxi, or uber to get anywhere and this can add up quickly.

That being said, I will still definitely consider Solaire for a future stay.  Have you stayed at Solaire?  Connect with me and let me know!

xoxo,

Judianne
